India is remarkable for the variety of its large mammals, richness in species exceeded by few countries in the world. It has a rich cultural heritage of wildlife as well as long history and tradition of conservation of nature. India’s first national park in the foothills of the Himalayas stretches over an area of 520 sq km. The River Ramgamga flows through the entire national park. This National park named after the famous wildlife conservationist Jim Corbett has the highest density of Bengal tigers in India, this was the first designated Project Tiger Reserve, in 1973.

The best time to visit Corbett National Park is November to May. The Park is closed from mid June to mid November. Some of the wildlife animals in Jim Corbett are Tiger, elephants, Gharial, crocodile, Jackal, Chital, hog deer, sambhar, langur, with wide range of bird species including endangered serpent eagle and Himalayan greyheaded fishing eagel.
